DJ Kelechi was voted DJ of the Year 2018 at the GT Music Awards.
“What an honour! Thanks to everyone who has booked me, listened and shared my mixtapes and voted for me to be DJ of the Year 2018!”
As a Christian DJ, music is my chosen medium to engage and expose people to the message of Christ. I’ve honed and developed my dee-jaying skills to a high level, and I am called upon to ‘minister in music’, mixing and blending the hottest tunes at events ranging from corporate black tie affairs, to traditional family functions, weddings, club nights and youth orientated outreach programmes.
My style of music is always befitting of the audience, and the styles of Christian music played include R’N’B, Hip-Hop, Reggae Dancehall/Bashment, Afrobeat/Hi-Life, Soca/Calypso, Funky House and UK Garage/Grime. I make sure my music is up to date and I’m an expert at keeping the crowd engaged and entertained even if they ‘don’t know all the songs’. I’ve received loads of great testimonials over the years.
What types of events do I cover?
Having started his Christian DJ ministry in 2003, Kelechi Amadi pioneered the Christian youth ‘praise party’ concept, with stand out events such as Funky Fresh, Throw ya Handz up and more recently the UK’s only regular monthly Christian club night, Praise Party UK. Driven by an infectious love for God it’s safe to say DJ Kelechi lives to see people share in his love for Christian music and have a good time whilst doing it!
DJ Kelechi has played for some of the biggest christian artists in the world today including: Lecrae and D.A. T.R.U.T.H as well as Guvna B, Faith Child and pretty much every other urban christian UK artist present over the last decade.
This Christian DJ has played extensively all around the UK; at parties, youth events and weddings alike, maintaining his status as the leading DJ in the urban christian/gospel scene for many years. As well as touring the UK, he has also played in Italy, Germany, Sweden, Angola and Malawi. As the official DJ for MOBO Award nominated rapper J Vessel, he has played at some of the biggest festivals in the UK including Big Church Day Out and Newday.
It can inspire or it can infect the mind with negativity. My mission is to use it for the Glory of God.”
